GREENE COUNTY, Pa. -- A crash on Interstate 79 in Greene County on Monday caused massive traffic backups.

State police said traffic was backed up for four miles in the southbound lanes near the Mount Morris exit.

Police said three good Samaritans were hurt when they stopped to help after the crash. Investigators said the Waynesburg University students were on the side of the road when another car came at them.

Officials said the students jumped over the guardrail to avoid getting but, but then fell off of an overpass.

The students were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. Two of the students were seriously hurt. A third student was treated and released from the hospital. Their names have not been released.
